Puerto Rico para ofrecer conciertos como artista invitado en el Palacio de las Bellas Artes de San Juan.
En 1998 Graba en su estudio de Madrid una colección de 70 de sus canciones con el pianista Ricardo Miralles. Obra única por su alto valor artístico, editada en México por Azteca Music con el título “Cortez al desnudo”. Esta obra contiene cinco discos compactos y un documento gráfico con todos los textos de las canciones y la explicación de cómo y por qué fueron compuestas cada una de ellas. También bajo la dirección musical de Miralles graba “Fe”, uno de sus últimos discos.
En el año 2000 La canción “Cuando un amigo se va” conjuntamente con “Alfonsina y el mar” y “Gracias a la vida” son consideradas según encuesta de un periódico de Chile como las tres mejores canciones en castellano del siglo XX. Ofrece por todo el territorio español una serie de conciertos de cámara bajo el título de “Cortez al desnudo” con Ricardo Miralles.
En el 2001 Vuelve a México y se presenta en diversos teatros del país llevando como invitados a Estela Raval y los 5 latínos. El espectáculo se llama “En un rincón del alma”. Durante esos conciertos se graba un disco doble a manera de documento en directo con el título del espectáculo.
En el año 2002 Graba un disco bajo la dirección musical de Tino Geiser llamado “Cuando llega la noche” pendiente de ser editado.
Y en el 2003 recibe, junto a la cantante Estela Raval el Premio Carlos Gardel por el disco “En un rincón de alma” como Mejor Álbum romántico melodico
En su larga trayectoria cuenta con una amplia discografía, infinitas presentaciones en televisión y cuatro libros de su autoría: Equipaje, Soy un ser humano, Almacén de almas y Desde un rincón del alma". Siguen los discos "Después del amor" (2003), "Sinfónico" (2004) e "Identidad" (2005).

Alberto Cortez is an Argentine accompanist and songwriter. Cortez and his wife reside in Madrid.
Cortez was built-in in Rancul, arena of de La Pampa, Argentina, March 11, 1940. At the age of six entered in the elementary academy and at the aforementioned time to the conservatory Alberto Williams. He begins to compose songs at twelve, like "Un cigarrillo, la lluvia y tú". A little after entered the Junior High Academy Manuel Ignacio Molina de San Rafael, arena of Mendoza. There he continues his studies of music in the conservatory Chopin of San Rafael.
At seventeen, Cortez became the accompanist of the Arizona orchestra, and he is accepted as Chiquito García. At eighteen, he went to abstraction in the Social Sciences and Law Academy of Buenos Aires and sang in confined to advice himself with his studies. After Cortez began to sing in the orchestra of Mario Cardi and after was apprenticed to sing in the San Francisco applesauce orchestra. With this biking over all the country. Begins to use his pseudonym "Alberto Cortez" while singing with the orchestra of Armando Pointier. Cortez alone out academy and committed himself absolutely to music.
At twenty, Cortez travelled by address to Genova and again by alternation to Antwerp, Belgium. There he recorded his aboriginal record. His almanac "Sucu Sucu" accomplished amount one. Cortez met Renee Govaerts and after affiliated her. After a difficult alpha he circumscribed himself as one of the added acclaimed composer-singers of Latin America with hits like "Mi árbol y yo", "Mariana", "Como el album día", "A partir de mañana" and "Callejero".
